Be + Do = Have
Crazy formula. If you come from nothing then this is pretty much the formula you have to build your empire.
Simply put.
Be ='s engaging in the activities which you would expect to do in an effort to eventually become your vision. Want to be a successful businessperson? Start acting like one. Good Father? Act like one. Have vision and play the part as if it already was in your own fabric. You will eventually become what your actions make of you.
Do ='s the part where you must put into action what it is you wish to become. Let's face it; I'll never be a pro surfer but I can dream. I still do these things because they are a part of a happy successful life. Do the things necessary to insure you will be successful. Want to be a doctor? Better crack the books and go through medical school....Etc...Do I want to make a lot of money? I better do something I love that is financially rewarding. That is always the caveat.
Have ='s the sum of the first two components. Have love? You must have loved somewhere first and played the part. Eventually you became the part so you REALLY have love. Start with yourself and work outwards.
You can apply this concept over and over again and more often than not it will work. Don't take my word for it but be open to the possibility I could be correct.
Fulfillment comes as you engage in these activities while you walk the path of life.
Focus on your Friends, Family, Faith and Health. You will need all of them to be successful.
Don't punish yourself either. The world will give you all you the punishment you can take.
Worry about being judged? Forget it.
You will show the world who you are as they watch your commitments.
You can see the commitment of a drug addict as clearly as you can see the love a parent has for their child. There is no real hiding from this fact. You will be judged not on your efforts but the results of your efforts.
Just remember that if you are loved you will never be a failure.
Failure is just a word. Failure doesn't care if you worry about it either.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
Success is found within.
Peace be with you,
Bobby

Bobby I love the whole post because it is so intuitive, but I especially like the line about"you will show the world who you are through your commitments". You've saved up a lot for this post...you will have a very good night.
ReplyDeleteI agree with that simple formula. Beautifully and simply put.
ReplyDeleteYou really need to write a book Bobby. Words of wisdom.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why I can't comment with my blog???

This post is truly indispensable. Our society places so much stress upon ''becoming and Having'' , that in this whole lifelong pursuit of becoming 'someone' so we achieve 'something' , we miss the joy and magic of just 'being' our essence.I believe that when we are being more of who we are in our core, our essence , we bring more fulfillment in our lives. That quality helps us to naturally map out a life that is best suited to our talents . when we bring our essence into the world , that's when we end up having what we want and in doing what we love doing, we create a life of abundance.I wish I had learned this 10 years back
ReplyDeleteI once read a line from Jim Rohn's writing. It said 'always do more than you are paid for to make an investment in your future. Its a very traditional corporate mantra but it has stayed with me.Success is something we attract by being who we are and for anything remarkable, putting that energy into being a better self
Oh and Gratitude? Accepting myself, appreciating the slightest , tinniest shifts in myself and staying patient, will make that remarkable change happen but on its own time.no problems.
I am also letting life in , in intelligent and compassionate ways.sometimes, happiness may not lie in having all the things we exactly want them to be as. Just remaining grateful no matter how it happens and at what rate...just living in clear awareness in each moment and loving everything in existence helps me in releasing a lot of burden of what my life ahead should be like. This helps in making my present very water tight. No leakage from past or future.
isn't that simple?
sorry, I took your post to a different dimension. You draw too many thoughts out of my head..
by the ways, did I tell you I love your pic?
**from my head..

Inspiring post Bobby! It's true, you get more out of anything if you put more into it and dedicate yourself to that thing..You're right about being a little easy on yourself too. the world punishes us enough without us having self inflicted stab wounds as well..Sometimes I think people love to chew other people up and spit them out,I think that's why we love all these gossipy reality shows. I love your advice to start with yourself and work outwards.Be the change you want to see. Fake it till you make it! Great advice and thanks for a terrific post!
ReplyDeleteI was wanting a guide book, but I think this is simple and easy too use. Which I like a lot.
ReplyDeleteThanks

What a great entry. Whether people care to admit it or not, to a large degree most of us are where we want to be. Sometimes people deny it, but they have done what it takes to be where the are, good or bad. Actually they applied those principles, but not always toward the positive.
ReplyDeleteIt is never too late to clean up the slate and put a positive vision into action.
Thank you for posting this.
Plenty of wisdom here! "Start on yourself and work outwards . . ." I love to hear the wisdom that others have lived to learn and practice. This comes from a rich source.
