A sacred place from my childhood. I would come here on Sunday mornings to contemplate life when I was a teenager.
I saw him on Sunday.
He was riding his long skateboard with his two daughters following close on their two wheeled scooters.
Before the Wizard disappeared last time he was seen with his daughters at the Hello Kitty store. A befitting venue.
The Wizard has long curly hair and a beard.
The Wizard is my friend. I cannot imagine what he had to endure last time he went away. He lost a lot of friends over the summer. You read about it in the news and already forgot the story.
He never talks about when he comes and goes. He just pops in and out of our lives.
Listening to his stories en route to our surfing trips reminds me that he will have nightmares forever.
You would look at him and never know.
For some he is the boogie man incarnate. For others? Just another surfer dude...
I'm just glad to have him back.
Peace be the keeper.
Bobby
I love the look of your sacred teenage place! I had a place like that when I was a teenager..it was down in the canyon in North Vancouver.
ReplyDeleteHas the wizard been popping in and out since then? What happened to make him like a boogie man to some people? Why will he have nightmares? I know some people have endured horrific things that explain a lot about them...people are how they are for reasons, I know that's true..I love this post Bobby! Peace to you.
Eve- He has a job that not many people are qualified or capable of doing. I sure as hell wouldn't want his job.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - Perhaps....
The wizard sounds like a person I would like to meet. I like the picture of you sacred place.
ReplyDeleteFragilewisdom - You absolutely would. I jumped in his jeep earlier this summer and noticed a knife strapped to the "oh shit handle" of his jeep. I said "wow" and he told me to look up at mine. Sure enough, I had a knife on mine too.
ReplyDeleteHe just looked at me and said "I'd never leave you hanging bro...."
Crazy logic but I suppose he has a point.
Sounds like an interesting guy all right. A military background of some sort?
